A New Beginning?

When the new year of 1999 began, it was the beginning of a new chapter in regards to classmates and the like. I had finished my co-op term and I knew some very nice people outside of my former and my current majors, even though I did meet one old classmate, Bryce, while working there, and I had not seen him for at least a year or so.

With the new academic quarter to begin and a new frontier to be entered, I am hoping that there are no major pain in the necks to deal with. I was about half right on that.

When I came into my first class of my new major, it was stepping foot in a new country, with new classmates and new professors. Not only that, but also there is a 'New Face'-like feeling as well as starting over. In fact, it did not prepare me for one particular classmate whose mouth made her a name that nearly everyone in that major knows, and in kind of a negative way. This girl was Gretchen. In fact, Gretchen is the loudest chatterbox I've ever seen or met ever. She immediately made my list of annoying classmates for her extremely annoying behavior. In fact, I was told by others that Gretchen is very annoying, and I myself would not be surprised if she is in other classmates' or professors' annoying classmates'/students' list.

Not only did Gretchen happen to get be labeled as an annoying classmate with her loudmouth, but there were quite a few others, in one of my classes that quarter, a group of classmates sitting in a far corner kept disrupting the class, and that annoyed both myself, some other classmates and the professor. That professor actually had to yell a couple of times to tame that so-called 'animal house' like chit-chat and similar behavior. However, in that class, one of my ex-classmates, Eckert, actually transferred over to my new major, and as of this day, he is still in my major.

Anyway, I only had three out of four classes which I had those classmates, even though Eckert was in perhaps one or two of those classes. But one of my classes was at an off-beat day and time, though, and it did not involve any of my ex-classmates or current classmates.

As for those noisy/disruptive classmates, I can only say the only one that is listed as an annoying classmate at that point, Gretchen, as well as a few other classmates, such as Cardozo, Selma and a few others were the ones I would have classed as disruptive, even though none of those made my list of annoying classmates, with the notable exception of Gretchen.

As for the rest of this quarter, I still kept in touch with Veronica as well as some of the other students I met during the previous quarter on my on campus co-op position. I considered my transition quarter of classes very uneventful, with the exceptions of those noisy/disruptive classmates and Gretchen. Needless to say, I did make Dean's List for the third time in my career and raising my GPA/QPA by about one tenth of a point.
